Project 2A: Picnic Pavilion

Task:
  1. Site analysis - of the physical context on 1 piece of A3.
  2. A series of detail drawings (1:50 scale) - as a set of a series of site plan, floor plans, sections, elevations, axon and perspectives, which must be done freehand and beautifully rendered. The drawings must demonstrate the concept that has informed the design on 4 pieces of A3 or 2 pieces of A2.
  3. A series of 2D diagrams - Diagrammatic explanation of the composition of Space and Form (which explains how the design is responding to the character and context),
  4. A series of models (1:50 scale) a minimum of 4 which includes: 3 process models and a final model. The final model must be beautifully crafted with balsa or model board or perspex or brown board, etc to be left in their natural colour and to be mounted on an A3 MDF board.

SITE VISIT

During the site visit in Port Dickson, we were distributed into two big groups, I was in the group researching by sea side, we were collecting every single details around the site, record it down for future development in project 2.

Reflection:

After the site visit, we gathered all the datas, then analyze the area, maps and recorded down every single detail in the site. The analysis was done in a big group therefore teamwork is rather important to prepare the analysis we had done as a group for that boundary we had set for our site. We must understand the limitations, advantages and disadvantages of the site in order to be able to present it out.
For project 2A, we were required to form groups in pairs, Angoline Boo and I worked well on getting to ideas, developing our concepts and designs, getting the experience from the previous project on precedent study, we managed to move on the design process well, we managed our time and utilized it fully for the final progression phase as well as the model making.
Teamwork is rather important because it won't be done without collaboration of both of us, we divided our parts. The models were really time consuming as we had used up a lot of time getting angles and measurements correct, this model was rather challenging as the angles are not right angles and easily measured. We were really satisfied with all the outcome of our hard work.
